Are you a seasoned copy writer who has extensive experience in the advertising and retail industry Do you have a proven track record of success developing provoking copy that sales products and connect with brand’s consumer base   Do you have team management skills

 We are currently seeking a dynamic Copy Director. This writing professional will steward the language of our brand ensuring it is appropriate, distinctive and consistent while providing creative expertise and leadership in executing every step of the copy process. The Copy Director will manage, inspire and motivate the copy team and be accountable for developing and directing copy work of the highest caliber that sells and drives response
Responsibilities
•    Define or refine the company’s brand voice in alignment with senior managements; vision. Emphasize key brand attributes including
•    Champion the copywriting process from concept to execution, maintain a consistent voice and style and collaborate with others on the creative team.  Elevate creative presentation into one that is more editorial, engaging and authoritative.
•    Develop processes and guidelines for the copy team to thoroughly explain the voice.
•    Lead, coach and mentor copywriters and proofreaders across all brands.  Lead the team in brainstorming on strategic initiatives ranging from seasonal concepts to quick turnaround market response projects
•    Write copy for all channels (catalog, web, retail) and any other marketing materials.  Review, edit and provide consistent feedback on copywriting as needed throughout the process.
•    Work with creative partners to continually explore fresh ways to drive sales and to enhance the company’s brand image
•    Write, present and sell concepts to all internal clients including creative, marketing, merchandising and management.   Collaborate with Merchandising to ensure that product copy is accurate and effective.  Work with merchants to develop authoritative copy presentations for product categories.
•    Partner with designers to ensure copy and design complement and elevate one another
•    Seek, hire, supervise, and develop writers and proofreaders.
•    Ensure the Copy team delivers on schedule
Qualifications
•    Proven ability to write copy that sells product, in ads, direct mail and catalogs
•    Minimum ten years of writing and editing experience, with at least three years in copy management
•    A strategic thinker
•    A swift writer
•    A decisive and incisive editor
•    Calm under pressure
•    Able to lead a team with a balance of guidance and delegation
•    Mac-proficient in Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign
