National Sales Director
Job Summary
Serves as the National Sales Director for a specified group of high-level accounts within the Integrated Marketing Solutions (IMS) team with a desired outcome of increased client satisfaction and revenue growth.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Supervises IMS sales staff. Oversees the sales effort, account management, and development of all accounts that are assigned to his/her team. Creates and executes a territory plan, assigns tasks, provides direction, resolves client and employee problems and enforces policies, procedures, and work standards.
- Works within scope of responsibilities and authority to meet P&L goals.
- Conducts sales calls individually and with the team to explain benefits and features of IMS products to clients. Presents sales demonstrations to clients. Negotiates and closes contracts.
- Travels individually and with the sales team to build customer relationship and secure revenue.
- Regularly (at least monthly) reports on the status of the business to the VP. This includes but is not limited to performance against budget, current month forecast, 1-6 month opportunities pipeline, team and individual performance against target, team and individual training and development plans, updated sales flow, challenges in the market, and ideas for sales performance improvement.
- Conveys information regarding prospective client’s needs that are not meet by current products to appropriate staff.
- Oversees and has ultimate responsibility for the accuracy of data in salesforce.com and the effective use of all required sales tools.
- Works with Client Development team to minimize client deferral lists.
- Approves expenses and purchases equipment and supplies in accordance with policies and procedures and established limits.
- Determines eligibility and selection of top candidates by conducting interview and selection process. Administers disciplinary actions up to and including written reprimands. Recommends employees for termination and hire. Conducts employee evaluations every 6 months and recommends pay increases and promotions. Approves leaves and authorizes overtime.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: operational policies and procedures; customer service and sales probing techniques; travel intricacies.
Ability to: work independently, maintain a positive attitude, solve problems, demonstrate ownership of all duties and responsibilities, show initiative; exercise good judgment in administration of responsibilities; adapt to and embrace change in a rapidly changing environment; make contact with difficult to reach decision makers; exhibit flexibility in work schedule and job tasks; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, clients, and other job contacts; lead and mentor by example; maintain and promote good client relations; maintain confidentiality of confidential and sensitive information.
Skill in: verbal and written communications; operation of standard office equipment; operation of personal computer; planning, scheduling and organizing work; application of job software an including Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe; developing and presenting creative sales demonstrations; general typing.
Minimum Qualifications
An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification for this position is:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7-10 years sales experience
- 3-5 years of sales management experience
Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
